The Jersey Central Chapter of the National Railway Historic Society sponsored a Lehigh & New England Photo Freight Special at the WK&S on Saturday, November 4, 2000. Take a look at the JCRHS web site. They offer a variety of railroad activities. The freight train comprised Whitcomb locomotive #602, LNE gondola #10381, LNE flat car #719 and LNE caboose #512. The photographer's chase train comprised General Electric locomotive #7258 and Delaware, Lackawanna & Western coach #582.

WK&S trains almost never operate south of Kempton Station, but on this occasion trains operated from Kempton to N. Albany and back. This picture and the one below show the LNE train drifting through downtown Kempton.

There is no run-around at N. Albany so the trains must push back to Kempton Station. Here #7258 shoves Lackawanna #582 back from downtown Kempton to Kempton Station.

The two trains then proceeded north to Wanamaker. At Wanamaker the LNE train prepares to head back south to Kempton.
